Lifeway Mission International’s COVID-19 Response
Immediate Help Needed for Essential Ministry Leaders
Lifeway Mission International (LMI) has a large network of more than 500 disciple-making movement leaders who serve in 15 Eastern African nations.
Covid-19’s disruption has been painfully felt. Cities like Nairobi have been put on lockdown for weeks choking the flow of essentials to most outlying areas.
Tragically, locust swarms of historic proportions are now sweeping across Eastern Africa. These are coming in increasing waves at the peak of harvest season. Much of this year’s anticipated food supply is being destroyed.
Many LMI network leaders are struggling because of these converging crises. They are no strangers to sacrifice and getting by with little. It is the life they live. They want to stay in the places and with the people they’ve been called to serve. But they are in dire need of basic staples for living.
LMI leadership has identified 500 leaders in need of emergency support for the next 3 months. Many of these are in multi- generational families that average 8 dependents.
We are planning and praying for $150,000 in donations. This will provide each of the 500 families with $100 worth of food and essentials in May, June and July.
We understand that some of you are struggling now as well. Would you invest some time in prayer for these leaders and their situation?
And for those who can: Would you be a channel of God’s provision for one of these leaders?
With your gift, you bless brothers and sisters called to serve others. With your gift, you affirm their call and support the spiritual and community transformation taking place in Eastern Africa.
Some generous donors have made it possible for 100% of your gifts to go to this need in Eastern Africa.
More about the LMI Leaders
LMI is Africans reaching Africans. Leaders sent by LMI have been extremely effective by living among and serving unreached people groups who have been resistant to the Good News of Jesus for generations. This work is Spirit- empowered, intentionally holistic, economically sustainable and culturally appropriate.
When LMI leaders go, they go in faith. They trust God to:
lead them to start a small business or other means of income in the community
show them how to serve local community needs
guide them to “people of peace” who are searching for hope
train new believers as local leaders who make disciples and multiply churches
